Basic ACES requirements:
ICS 100, 200 and 700 are required prior to certification. You may take the course if you haven't completed the FEMA courses and you will receive your ACES certificate after completing the FEMA courses.
Students are required to bring a portable radio and manual for programming practice and passing traffic.
Pre-registration is required.

Other: Plan on bringing a sack lunch and drink/coffee if possible; we'll have refrigerators to store them in. Alternatively, there are restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Pre-registration is required. Priority registration goes to those living in the Portland UASI area (Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, and Columbia counties plus Clark County, Washington), but we'll take anyone from Oregon and Washington as space is available. 30 participants maximum.
Participants will need to complete IS-100, IS-200, and IS-700 through FEMA's online Emergency Management Institute (EMI) prior to certification. You may take the ACES course if you haven't completed the FEMA courses and you will receive your ACES certificate after completing the FEMA courses. Students are required to bring a portable radio and manual for programming practice and passing traffic. If you are not an amateur radio operator (ARO) and instead use other methods (FRS, GMRS, MURS, CB), you may be paired up with an ARO during the exercises.
