ACES Basic (Sisters, OR)

Dechutes County ARES Auxcomm is sponsoring an ACES BASIC certification class in Sisters.  The course will be taught in two days, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 5pm each day.  Location is the Sisters City Hall, 520 E Cascade Avenue, Sisters Oregon.  Cost is $25 per student and includes the student workbook.  Preregistration is required, payment may be made via payal when signing up or at the beginning of the class.  Completion of ICS 100, 200 and 700 are required for certification, students may take the class without the ICS courses but will need to complete them for certification.  Students should bring their handheld radio with charger, an extra battery if available, and an earphone/headset is handy for the nets and message passing exercise.  Students will be repeatedly programming their radios as well as sending and receiving voice messages.  Please email N7HQR with any questions.  n7hqr@oregonaces.org

Seattle Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) is sponsoring an ACES Basic certification course in Seattle.  The course fee is $25 per student at the door and includes the student workbook, handouts and certificate.  FEMA IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 courses are required prior to certification and available online at http://training.fema.gov/is.  You must present a copy of your FEMA certificates.  You may attend the ACES course before completing the FEMA courses and you will receive your ACES certificate after comepletion of the FEMA courses.
